$1,000 sign on bonus eligible for the Denver, PA location!
Work Hours 7:00am to 3:30pm. Some flexibility needed for later hours on special projects and weekend and holiday feeding rotation.
New starting wage $15.75 per hour. Higher pay rates may be available for candidates with prior animal care experience.
As an Animal Care Technician II you’ll work closely with the small and large animal population to include ferrets, felines, rodents, rabbits, swine, goats, sheep and primates.
Duties include, but are not limited to-
- Feeding of all species within the animal facilities. Observation of animals, and reporting health issues.
- Perform blood draws including exsanguinations on specific species according to protocol and client request.
- Assist with the receiving of animals into the facilities and shipping animals out of the facility.
- Changing of all soiled animal cage units. Sanitation of all equipment used in the process of cleaning.
- Assist with the operation of cage washer and tunnel washer
- Bedding of animal pens and stalls
- Document sanitation practices following GRP. Help maintain AAALAC accreditation and regulatory compliance; animal handling according to the Guide on Animal Handling and Husbandry.
- Understand the use of chemicals in the facilities and how to find/read MSDS
Duties Specific to Large Animals
- Operation of fork lift, tractor and skid loader with appropriate training
- Assist with the unloading of hay and feed trucks and stocking supplies on the dock - Assist with sanitization A-4 feed cooler
- Daily feeding and observation of all large animals to ensure good health status in conjunction with veterinarian care program

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some computer skills
- Consistent work history
- Experience in the Animal Care industry is required
