What are the responsibilities and job description for the Genetic Coordinator Assistant position at Labcorp?
The Women's Health & Genetics division of Laboratory Corporation of America is seeking a Genetic Coordinator Assistant (GCA) to join their team!
- Work with the lab Genetic Coordinator team to support clients that order testing performed at the specified lab.
- Respond to telephone and email inquiries from clients, healthcare providers, other LC laboratories and branches to coordinate all applicable genetic testing.
- Contact clients to obtain pertinent demographic and clinical information and communicates with clients to ensure that the appropriate testing is ordered.
- Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves any problems related to testing by contacting clients or other LC facilities.
- Responsible for performing administrative duties such as data entry, database maintenance, filing, and faxing of reports.
Requirements:
- Requires a BA or BS degree in a Biological Science
- 2 years’ related Customer Service experience preferred
- 1 years’ experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician’s office highly desired
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively
- Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
- Strong project management skills
This position will be a remote position and have hours from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with flexibility Monday – Friday.
