Hospital Reference Desk Clerk (Float)

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Hospital Services team in Kansas City. The Hospital Reference Test Clerk Float will be responsible for 3 primary components including specimen accessioning, sample splitting/sorting and data entry.

The schedule for this position will be: Monday - Friday while the hours vary depending on location being floated to; also, with an occasional Saturday rotation.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

o    Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

o    Routes specimens by type to various staging areas or designated department

o    Spin samples, pour urine tubes, and create frozen samples

o    Pick up and deliver samples to clients/hospitals

o    Unpack and route specimen to their respective staging areas

o    Accurately identify and label specimens

o    Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities

o    Pack and ship specimen to proper testing facilities

o    Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

o    Process all necessary paperwork to process and submit specimen

o    Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner

o    Maintain a clean and safe work environment

o    Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

o    Perform audits in order to resolve any outstanding issues

o    Follow testing process to confirm results are sent to the client

o    Assist clients with any specimen related requests or inquires

o    Research and Resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary

o    Cover absences of team member on an as needed basis

o    Varied hours, depending on coverage of team members on PLB

o    Be able to commute to various locations as needed
