The Esoterix division at LabCorp is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team in Calabasas, CA! Esoterix provides esoteric testing for hospitals and physician specialists, primarily specializing in endocrinology and GI testing. Esoterix goal is to provide premier laboratory services that positively impact patient care and cost-effective medical treatment. The Lab Technician will be responsible for all technical procedures associated with the preparation of reagents for the clinical laboratory.
This is a great entry level opportunity to join an innovative laboratory and receive targeted one-on-one training that will help the individual grow in the diagnostics clinical lab field.
The schedule for this position will be: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Performs technical procedures in support of preparation and release of reagent components and/or kit products.
- Receives and logs in raw materials and reagents as required.
- Analyzes and reviews data according to established guidelines.
- Produces standards and quality control materials for use in testing labs.
- Iodinates labels using stock material and Iodine-125 radionuclide.
- Records data on Reagent Preparation Sheets for review by Technical Director and files documents.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, documents PM appropriately, makes minor repairs and immediately contacts appropriate personnel for problems requiring more complex repairs.
- Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
- Documents all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management.
Requirements:
- B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or relatable life science field
- No previous experience required
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
- High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Pay Range: $23.00 -30.00/hr plus 10% shift differential
