What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Team Lead position at Labcorp?
Facilitate production processes by keeping production lines balanced with materials and employees and completing all necessary paperwork related to the production processes by performing the following duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. This is a First Shift Position: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional Overtime on Saturdays: 7:00am to 12:00pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Have in-depth knowledge of and be proficient at all tasks and equipment in the production areas.
- Contact QC to obtain approved lot numbers and prepare labels required for Work Orders.
- Have in-depth knowledge of and be proficient at completing all paperwork (including approvals) required for Device History Records.
- Physically move materials from the staging area to the appropriate production area (i.e. assembly, wrapping, kitting, etc.).
- Set up production lines (i.e. assembly, wrapping, kitting, etc.) with materials needed to complete Work Orders.
- Verify and record lot numbers and quantities of materials onto the Device History Records.
- Have in-depth knowledge of and be proficient at inputting labor hours and material quantities used into the Visual system.
- Count and record number of de-issued material quantities for warehouse returns.
- Verify that all materials are removed from the work stations after the completion of each production run (line clearance).
- Keep lines supplied with materials for current Work Order and be prepared for the next Work Order.
- Keep the lines balanced by observing the flow and number of employees on the line (i.e. if quantity drops, move employees).
- Verify that pre-kits are completed and delivered to QC in a timely manner.
- Each hour record quantities produced and number of employees utilized on the Visual Aid Board.
- Assist with cycle counts.
- Train new employees as required.
- Keep production areas clean and materials off the floor.
- Move discarded cardboard into recycle bins.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily in addition to the essential duties of Production Technician II and Production Technician III positions. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to compute percent.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
