The Digital Business Transformation & Strategy (DBTS) LIMS Modernization Team of Laboratory Corporation of America (Labcorp) has an opportunity for talented IT Business Analyst, senior level, to join a motivated and productive team in delivering enterprise-level solutions. Responsibilities:
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver functional requirements, use cases, and user interface designs as necessary
- Strong analytical and organizational skills (required)
- Serves as a primary Project Analyst on medium to large complex projects
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
- Serves as the conduit between the business community (internal and external customers) and the software development team
- Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams, support teams, and business partners/vendors
- Develop requirements specifications according to standards, using natural language
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver functional requirements, use cases, and user interface designs as necessary
- Fosters good working relationships with all departments while managing business expectation levels.
- Promotes, represents, and shares knowledge and experience with team and operation
- Provide input into Test Plan creation and support test plan validation as required for QA.
- Provide input into User Acceptance Plans as need for implementation
- Provide input for training and reference materials for users
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5-10 years of experience as a business analyst
- 2-5 years of experience in the healthcare industry preferred
- Experience in laboratory medicine, specifically anatomic pathology preferred
- Data analysis
- Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail, prioritization skill, and time management
- Quick learner with a positive attitude
- Maintain a strong relationship with key groups
- An empowered team member, a process-oriented thinker
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, required
