Job Description-Press Assistant
We are looking for a Press Operator Assistant to join our Production Department. The Press Operator Assistant will assist press operators and learn to run a press machine to produce high quality printed labels as scheduled. We are looking for an eager team player who will add to our fast paced Production Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Count items accurately to maintain accurate inventory of materials produced, supplies used and available inventory.
Monitors equipment during job runs, remains alert to mechanical problems and corrects or refer to maintenance as necessary.
Monitors product for quality during job runs, checks precision of detail against specifications, and takes action to correct any problems.
Observes mechanical operation and indicating gauges to ensure that specified operating levels are maintained and makes specified adjustments when needed.
Assist in installing anilox rollers, plates, inks, and dies into the proper stations, making necessary adjustments for optimal print quality when needed.
Assist in starting press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of printing plate as necessary.
Assist in maintaining efficient run times. This will include in loading cores, boxing, and mounting plates.
Assist in reading work orders and mounts specified plates and printing dies on cylinder according to product specifications.
Assist in troubleshooting flexographic printing issues.
Performs periodic cleaning/maintenance of the press or as needed to ensure proper operation.
Cleans plates, cylinder, and dye fonts, using solvent, and lubricates press as needed, using grease gun.
Cross-train to work on other presses and learn operator skills.
Learn and maintain product and press knowledge.
Record safety, quality, production, and maintenance data on various paperwork and computers as required when needed.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
Must be able to read and understand job specifications. Must be able to use and read a standard and metric ruler.
Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
Good math and mechanical skills.
Good work history and attendance.
A positive and helpful attitude.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to be on your feet and moving around for duration of your shift. This is a fast-paced environment that is somewhat physically demanding. The ability to lift up to 80lbs is required.
Must be a United States citizen or legal resident.
General proficiency with computers.
Attentive to details, ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
Consistency and accuracy in repetitive tasks.
Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
