LOCATION: Laboratory Alliance of CNY, 115 Continuum Drive, Suite 2A, Liverpool, NY

ABOUT US:

Laboratory Alliance is the area’s largest state-licensed laboratory, providing clinical and anatomic pathology testing to a 16-county region in Central New York. As the laboratory of choice for most local healthcare providers, more than 10 million tests are performed annually at our three laboratories located within St. Joseph’s Health, Crouse Hospital, and at the Laboratory Alliance Operations Center in Syracuse, New York.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Payroll Specialist will ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations and has frequent contact with applicants, personnel, vendors, senior administration, hospital personnel, and visitors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures accurate and timely processing payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Supporting the HR department and organization in the maintenance of employee files and records. Maintaining job postings, internally and externally, via company website and external platforms. Communicate needs to third party recruiters. Screening candidates and coordinating interviews with appropriate managers. Reference calls for prospective hires. Overseeing onboarding paperwork and orientation for new hires. Maintain personnel databases and spreadsheets. Assisting with celebration and bereavement orders and catering. Preparing and distribution of communication on behalf of senior administration. Reviewing and editing HR documentation, policies, and communication. Liaison to building management, vending, and office supply vendors. All other duties assigned, as needed.

EDUCATION:

High school graduate and at least 1 year of relevant experience in payroll experience (3 years preferred); HR certification, preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

The work environment is primarily an office setting with no exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a healthcare environment.

Occasionally required to move about from office to office, position one's self lower and higher to access files. Ability to move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 30 pounds

SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise with Windows suite, including Excel and Access, required; proven interpersonal and communication skills; exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks; ability to adapt to changing workload and stressful situations; ability to self-motivate, work independently, and prioritize tasks.

SALARY RANGE: $19.00 - $27.00 DOE
