CAD Drafter

Position: Temp-to-Hire CAD Drafter
Location: Pomona, CA
Requirements: Background Check and Drug Test Required

Position Summary

The Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Drafter II works under the close supervision of the Engineering Supervisor preparing technical and mechanical drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices and the manufacture of equipment.

Essential Job Duties

Prepare technical drawings and resolve associated mechanical and fabrication problems.

May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts.

Determine design elements, such as the numbers and kinds of fasteners needed to assemble the machine.

Perform a modeling, drafting, or Engineering Change Order (ECO) process with minimum errors.

Prepare drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices, indicating dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements.

Other Duties

Perform cost analysis based on manufacturing capability and design quality.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or an Associate’s degree in drafting or the completion of a technical school drafting program or a combination of education and equivalent experience using computer aided design and drafting (CADD) systems

Two years experience using CADD systems

Knowledge of traditional drafting techniques, and mechanical drafting

Ability to use tables, calculators and computers

Proficient in using a computer including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology

Capable of successfully working on multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadline schedules

Ability to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behavior

Possess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple tasks and consistently meet all deadlines

Ability to work collaboratively with others and foster cooperative relationships and credibility at all levels of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
