What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at LabX Media Group?
We are currently looking for a bookkeeper to join our team at LabX Media Group to work closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in bookkeeping software. They also take initiative, prioritize tasks, and can regularly meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Midland, Ontario
Responsibilities:
- Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Perform month end closings
- Post journal entries
- Process accounts payable and manage the accounts receivable process
- Customer invoicing and recording
- Intercompany related transactions and balancing
- Tax and related government filings
- Preparing financial reports and project assistance as required
- Balancing subsidiary accounts to reconcile accounts
- Ensuring all financial actions comply with local legal requirement
- Recording and processing customer payments in dual systems
- Setting up and maintaining customer accounts
- Working collaboratively with various departments to determine billing needs
- Assist in developing and implementing internal accounting policies and procedures
- Maintaining accurate financial records
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, finance or related discipline
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or financial experience preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Understanding of industry benchmarks in accounting best practices
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel or any other spreadsheet
