As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial decision-making processes by providing insightful analysis, generating accurate financial reports, and conducting thorough financial research. You will work closely with senior management, department heads, and cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations to optimize business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Generating timely and accurate financial reports and analysis is a key responsibility of a financial analyst. Compile and analyze financial data to produce reports that provide insights into the company's financial performance. Daily Financial Management of key cost areas.
Conduct detailed financial analysis, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
Analyze payroll-related expenses and trends to provide insights into labor costs and workforce efficiency.
Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
Assist in the development of financial plans, budgets, and long-term strategic plans to support business objectives.
Monitor and evaluate financial performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by analyzing historical financial data, identifying trends, and making projections. Variance analysis to provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting payroll expenses, including job cost analysis and variance reporting.
Internal Controls:
Ensure the integrity of financial processes and internal controls. Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures, conduct reviews to identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Cash Management:
Monitor and report on cash flow.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements is an important part of financial analysis. Financial analysts may be involved in ensuring that financial reporting is accurate and in accordance with relevant regulations.
Oversight of Payroll Functions:
Ensure accuracy and compliance in weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing, including monitoring labor costs, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Administer controls such as positive pay, ACH notice of change, and bounce backs to minimize errors and fraud.
Ensure payroll data and discrepancies are resolved.
Stay updated on relevant labor laws and regulations to ensure payroll compliance.
Communication:
Collaborate with departments across the organization to gather financial data, provide analytical support, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact the company's financial performance.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
Assist in ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role, preferably in a service industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate meaningful insights.
Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software/tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
