Job description
Ladd Dental Group, Inc. is a family-owned dental practice with several locations in Indiana. We are currently seeking an EFDA/CDA for a location in Huntington, Indiana.
This assistant will:
- Assisting the doctor Communicating effectively with patients, coworkers, and management
- Maintaining equipment and inventory, cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments
- Following universal precautions, OSHA requirements, and any other state or nationwide regulations.
- Checking charts and preparing for morning huddle (15 minutes before first patient is scheduled)
- Preparing treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
- Reviewing the day’s treatment being done and medical history that includes updating any medical issues, allergies, and medications, record all changes
- Taking and recording blood pressure
- Obtaining patients signatures and notify Hygienists or Dentist of any significant changes in health
- Taking dental X-rays
- Preparing patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and assisting the dentist using 4-hand dentistry
- Providing information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
- Providing instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area
- Positioning instruments for dentist's access
- Providing materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials
- Providing diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographics as requested by dentist
- Pouring and trimming study models
- Maintaining patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; and cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Educating patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions
- Documenting dental care services by charting in patient records
- Maintaining patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Must be X-ray certified.
- Must have general understanding of dental terms, equipment, and procedures and EFDA Training and Certification or CDA
- Means to travel from one office to another.
Preferred:
- Bilingual preferred.
- CPR and First-Aid certification preferred.
