Compliance Manager
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Hours & Shifts: Full-time. Monday- Friday and may include weekends and/ or evenings
Employee Classification: Salary, Exempt
Salary Range: $50,000 depending on skills and experience
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Department & Purpose: Compliance
Responsible for providing organization-wide operational support for agency optimization; identifies risks the organization faces and advises how to avoid or address them
About the Role
The Compliance Manager is responsible for keeping the organization's activities within the guidelines, regulations, and ethical expectations of their field and the organizations quality assurance/ quality control standards. This includes monitoring relevant operations and reporting infractions reviewing company policies for possible risks and liabilities, and researching legal requirements for new initiatives.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Implements overall compliance and risk management strategy
- Oversees day-to-day operations of department
- Ensures the safety programs is consistent, clearly communicated, and understood
- Ensures infractions are properly reported, addressed, and measures are put in place to avoid future infractions
- Participates in creation of budget and ensures adherence
- Reviews risk assessment and reports and ensures accurate and timely submission to appropriate entities
- Manages contracts with the organization's third-party safety and compliance entities
- Works closely with HR and affected departments to create, update, and implement compliance related policies (includes training and accountability mechanisms)
- Researches and advises leadership and department heads on risk management issues
- Prepares and presents reports on compliance related issues
- Shares new legislative guidelines and requirements that impact (or might impact) the organization in a timely manner
- Proactively seeks input related to day-to-day compliance and safety processes and procedures
- Models The LADD Way (TLW) and supervises direct reports ensuring their performance is aligned with TLA and the policies and practices set for the department
- Leads performance management for direct reports
- Participates in performance management for indirect reports
- Represents LADD in a positive manner as appropriate
- Keeps up-to-date on all relevant training and certifications
Additional Responsibilities:
- Handle emergency situations with urgency
- Serves as an advocate for the organization's mission and programs in the community
- Fills in for staff when necessary
- Responds as the primary contact to rare "off hours" emergencies when necessary
- Hires and trains staff as necessary
Education/ Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, safety management or related field required
- Minimum of three years of experience in a compliance or safety role and have a minimum of two years of progressive management experience
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to understand, apply, and train others on relevant health and safety requirements and processes
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform in fast paces and/or stressful situations
- Computer competency specifically in tracking and reporting relevant data.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work schedule will normally be Monday through Friday and may include weekends and/ or evenings
- Job will include being in an office environment as well as remote sites; and will require travel to other locations
