Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct programs and seminars aligned with the LCP’s core curriculum.
- Provide religious instruction and counseling up to 30 sessions per week.
- Track and report inmate community service hours.
- Offer counseling to aid inmates in their transition.
- Make Inmate Skills Development entries in the LCP database.
- Foster relationships with diverse religious communities (Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, Pagan, Buddhist, etc.).
- Coordinate, account for, and track print and audio-visual resources for LCP staff and contractors.
- Hold inmates accountable for meeting goals and requirements for program graduation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in religious studies, religious education, spiritual direction, psychology/counseling, criminology, or a related field.
- Experience with transition training and facilitating groups.
- Basic computing skills, including Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, scanner, and printer.
- Preferred: Prior correctional experience working with adult offenders in a faith-based setting.
- Ability to work with and teach diverse religious groups in a correctional setting.
- Ability to develop and implement lesson plans.
- Ability to track and manage resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to hold inmates accountable.
- Proof of qualifications and submission of a resume, educational documents, personal references, and an endorsement letter from a local religious organization required.
