What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Technician position at Lafarge?
Overview
The incumbment will be responsible for taking rounds of the whole plant, checking all running electrical equipments, carrying out corrective maintenance, attending break-down maintenance work, executing, etc.
- Carry out all break-down work, Corrective Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance work. Checking spares availability and liaises with different department to repair equipment.
- Providing the software skills and support to optimally control the process and packing plant cost effectively and ensuring accessibility of plant process information to Management, Engineering, the Laboratory and planning.
Education/Qualifications
- Minimum N6 Electrical qualification, S4, NDip
- Electrical trade Test required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven 5 year electrical maintenance experience in heavy Industry
- Knowledge and understanding of the planning process
- MV Switching experience
- UPS and battery charge experience
- Battery tripping unit experience
- Liquid starters experience
- Conveyor belts and legal requirements
- Schneider/Siemens medium voltage switchgear knowledge and power distribution protection experience
- 5 years’ experience in PLC Programming and faultfinding
- EEL Packer experience
- Extensive knowledge on SEW drives, Siemens drives, Rockwell automation drives and ABB drives
- Lachenmeir Palletizer experience
