As Global Category Manager Trucks, you take ownership of the global truck sourcing strategy to support the global decarbonization strategy within the green transportation category in Procurement, across the Group, and in strong coordination with countries & functions.

You Support the implementation and achieve the set group green transportation strategy, ambitions and objectives in order to deliver the expected results and provide a competitive edge in all markets.

 

  • Responsible for the global Truck sourcing strategy and its implementation, in close collaboration with regional procurement, logistic and mining teams
  • Collaborate closely with the decarbonation subject-matter expert for green vehicles and ensure that Holcim sustainability goals are met
  • Conduct price negotiations with OEMs, and responsibility to establish commercial agreements for on road and off-road trucks, including associated solutions and services
  • Ensure the most competitive set up for Holcim and its 3rd party logistics suppliers, in close collaboration with country and regional teams
  • Carry out analysis of procured products and benchmarks
  • Establish and develop a strategic suppliers network, with a focus on new technologies

Education/Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree (Technical/Mechanical or Business/Economics)

Experience

  • Significant operational and business management experience within the truck/transportation industry & management with a focus on green transportation & regulations
  • Several years of experience in the purchasing or technical sales department of a truck OEM or road logistic company in an international environment
  • Good understanding of sustainability and overall ESG concepts and ability to translate those in competitive procurement levers
  • Significant management experience in both operational and functional positions

Knowledge & Skills

  • Business & economics, Procurement, legal & contractual areas
  • Decarbonization / Green transportation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as a strong intercultural competence
  • Your personality is characterized by initiative, commitment and flexibility as well as the ability to work in a team
  • Proven track record of implementing strategic innovations and new technologies in the transportation sector
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills on various hierarchical levels, good at networking and building solid business relationships quickly
  • Creative, with the ability to drive and inspire organizational changes and innovation through an entire organization
  • Passionate about sustainability

Language Requirements

Fluency in English & German, additional languages are advantageous.
