Lafayette College, a highly selective, private liberal arts college of 2,700 undergraduates, located in the picturesque Lehigh Valley and the historic city of Easton, PA (just 75 minutes from both New York City and Philadelphia), plans to appoint an admissions specialist to administratively assist in the Colleges effort to recruit, select and enroll new classes of students.

Admissions Specialist :
This operational position provides support to the admissions office and is heavily focused on professional communication with prospective students and their families.
The Admissions Specialist also has additional administrative responsibilities that occur throughout various times in the admissions cycle, such as :
Answers general admissions phone calls promptly and professionally, provides correct information to callers
Act as administrative assistant to Dean of Admissions
Provides support for the admissions territory managers involved in the student application process
Provides clerical and project support to admissions department, as needed
Provides travel-related support for the admissions territory managers involved in the student application process
Communicates effectively regarding routine issues with prospective students, students, parents, other candidate allies and guidance counselors
Creates and maintains computerized records
Scans and files documents
Ensures all records are complete, accurate, and up to date
Maintains office supply inventory and organization
Attends weekly directors and staff meetings and acts as note taker
Ships documents to national and international students
Provide GPA recalculation during the application reading cycle
Act as a back-up for Guest Relations Coordinator when they are absent and offer assistance when they are busy. Coordinate alternate lunch hours to ensure proper coverage at all times.
Makes meeting arrangements, as necessary
Other related duties as directed

Familiar with Google & Microsoft suites
Qualifications and Educational Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent of prior related experience
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications and Educational Requirements :
Prior exposure to Slate and Banner computer systems
Prior experience and training in GPA recalculation
Knowledge of the Lafayette College Community
Familiar with Slack
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee will occasionally lift and / or push up to 40 lbs.
