Lake Air Products is looking to add another Tool Maker to join our tooling department in New Hope. We are seeking an experienced Tool Maker that can build, repair, and debugs tooling for simple and complex compounds and progressive dies. We are seeking individuals with a variety of different skill sets including reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements and can quickly and efficiently complete jobs with very few rejections. Responsibilities:

• Makes and repairs stamping dies, compute dimensions, plan machining, measure and mark metal stock for operators set up and operate lathes, milling machines, radial drill press, and surface grinders.
• Analyzes blueprint specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and machinists' hand tools.
• Fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Plans work from prints, sketches, CAD drawings, and/or own ideas of changes necessary, including such work as repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding the construction and function of the part.
• Troubleshoots tools in press.
• Works with Press Operators on setting up tools in the press.
• Conducts test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; makes adjustments as necessary.
• Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
• Performs over work-related tasks as needed
• Set pyrometer controls for heat-treating furnaces, and feed or place parts, tools, or assemblies into furnaces to harden.
• Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of the product.
• Performs other work-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• A.A. technical degree in a Tool & Die Program
• 5  years experience in tool & die
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
• Bend and lift, loading and unloading workpieces onto pallets, and move from one workstation to another, alternately sitting and standing
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Perform repetitive work for more than 10 hours per day, including weekends.
• Read the fine print and distinguish colors.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
