What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flex APRN - ATP/CCP position at Lake County?

Our Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) serve our community by providing direct clinical care to clients, including ordering lab tests, counseling patients, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medication (within the scope of their education and certification of the collaborative agreement with their collaborating physician). Scheduled hours as needed
- Medical screening of all potential ATP client candidates, as well as Crisis Care Program (CCP).
- Intake examinations of all ATP withdrawal management (“Detox”) and rehabilitation clients, and of CCP clients as needed
- Medical and addiction treatment for ATP rehabilitation clients when appropriate, including prescribing Medicinal Addiction Treatment (MAT)
- Medical care of ATP and CCP clients in a residential setting.
- Coordinating care with ATP nurses and counselors, CCP staff, and with psychiatric care providers when needed
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing required.
- A current active and unrestricted license from the State of Illinois as an Advanced Practice Nurse is required (or a letter from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation stating that the application for licensure endorsement has been approved, with receipt of Illinois license following within six months of the initial application date for endorsement ).
- Initial and continuing certification by a national certifying body as one (or more) of the following:
- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Adult Nurse Practitioner
- Current active and unrestricted Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) from the State of Illinois is required.
- Registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required.
- CARA Act waiver from the DEA is required.
- At least 1 year of experience providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) half-time, or equivalent preferred.
As a public health department, we believe in the science, data, and power of vaccines, like influenza and COVID-19 vaccines, to protect against and prevent illness. Therefore, we require all Health Department staff to receive the primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as the annual influenza vaccine unless they have an approved medical or religious exemption.
Any offer of employment is conditioned on the successful completion of a background screening, drug, and alcohol testing and may include a pre-employment medical exam.
