What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Systems Intern position at Lake Michigan Credit Union?
*Spring/Summer 2023 Internship Period: 05/15/2023 - 08/18/2023 Job Summary: The role of the Information Systems Intern is to assist the IS staff with keeping the network computing systems operating efficiently and assures that computing standards are implemented and enforced. Extends IS support services to staff and members both in person and remotely. Performs operational tasks directly related to the credit union’s PC equipment and account processing system. Responsibilities: Installs, supports, and assists with managing software and hardware devices (including inventory management/tracking and licensing). Consults with IS management and other personnel to assure that IS standards for control, security, and data recoverability are understood and followed. Coordinates with other IS staff to assure that appropriate IS computing standards are implemented and maintained. Assists with managing software upgrades to assure compliance with standards and control procedures. Participates in team and individual projects including new location setups. Collaborates with IS network systems staff to support the following computing components: PC/LAN workstations, WAN communications links, printers, telephone equipment, and peripheral devices. Provides helpdesk support to LMCU personnel. Preferred Education & Experience: Experience in PC usage and hardware/software support, Active Directory, DNS, PC imaging software, and helpdesk ticketing systems helpful. Knowledge of current Windows OS experience preferred. Some physical work is required, must be able to lift 50-100 lbs. Ability to diagnose problems over a WAN in remote locations. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time and is very detail-oriented. 3.0 GPA or greater. College student at freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior or master level status or a recent college graduate within the last 3 months with a focus in Computer Information Systems or a related business field.
