Job Description
We are currently searching for a Technician to work in our In-House Lab. In this role you will test products, accurately record data and then report your findings to the team. Maintaining lab equipment and ensuring a clean, safe lab environment are key responsibilities for this role. In addition, you will also continuously assess operational efficiencies to refine and create process improvements. Successful candidates will have lab experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
A day in the office looks like this:
- Performing routine physical/mechanical lab functions per test plan to support new product development as well as qualifying existing products
- Conducting testing to both internal and external requirements
- Setting up, adjusting, calibrating and maintaining lab equipment and fixtures
- Developing test methods and/or fixture(s) as necessary
- Maintaining a clean and safe lab working environment
Qualifications
Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience in laboratory setting)
- Hands-on experience with building basic test fixtures
- Proficiency in setting up, calibrating and maintaining technical laboratory equipment
- The ability to learn and follow specific scientific techniques
- Mindset of continuous improvement
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively communicate status while working to accomplish the assigned tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word
- Previous experience in the toy and/or furniture industry a plus
