School-Based Student Peer Mediator and Restorative Counselor
(Also known as Conflict Resolution Specialist)
Full-time – Colonial School District
Summary: Work with students to manage and resolve conflicts that impact the school and classroom community.
Overview: As a Conflict Resolution Specialist, you will work with students to manage and resolve conflicts that impact the school and classroom community. You'll provide individual, peer-to-peer, and group mediation and conflict education support and coaching to Middle School students. You will work in partnership, as needed, with school faculty, administrators, and staff to integrate Conflict Resolution Education into the school community.
Hours: This is a 40-hour-per-week position. The Conflict Resolution Specialist will be available, between the hours of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, according to the school schedule, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitate individual and peer-to-peer mediations and conflict resolution sessions with students
- Work in partnership with students and staff to address teacher-student conflict
- Facilitate Restorative and/or Healing Circles
- Facilitate Conflict Resolution Education Groups
- Collaborate with school staff to receive referrals
- Collaborate with school staff to identify, and implement, building level Conflict Resolution Education strategies in school
- Maintain accurate records regarding program data
- Assess and prioritize requests for service
- Prepare program reports
Requirements:
- Candidate must have a master’s degree in conflict resolution, counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Experience and passion for working with middle and high school-aged youth
- Working knowledge of conflict resolution and/or restorative strategies and practices
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practice
- Ability to assess and prioritize requests for service
- Skilled in De-escalation, problem-solving, and active listening techniques
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with youth
- Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with school/building faculty and staff
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills

Required: Current Pennsylvania Criminal, FBI and Childline clearances, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Sexual Misconduct/ Abuse Disclosure release(s), and a signed Physician’s Affidavit/TB Test results.
