Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

Accountable for the 24 hour operation of the Women’s Health & Birthing Center. Accountable to plan, direct, implement and evaluate nursing activities of a patient care unit consistent with the philosophy of the Division of Nursing.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Utah nursing license in good standing
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 30 days of hire
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days of hire.
• NRP/STABLE within 90 days or next available class
• Fetal Heart Monitoring Experience Labor nurse within six months of hire.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a staff nurse in women’s services.
• Minimum 3 years of previous leadership in a clinical role
