What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Residential Services (CBRF Director) position at Lakeview Specialty Hospital and Rehab?
Oversee and provide for the smooth daily operation of the residents on CBRF I and II, and plan for the development of the program to meet changing resident populations, and to participate with the facility’s Management team in planning the facility’s response to changes in the health care market.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide the direct or collaborative supervision necessary to therapists, case managers, nursing staff and residential assistants so that a safe and therapeutic milieu is provided for residents within the program, and is available to program staff to assist with crisis situations.
- Works in collaboration with other management staff regarding facility operations, program development, marketing, and financial planning.
- To participate in the programs and the facility’s monitoring of Performance Improvement/Program Evaluation. To ensure standard compliance for the program as a whole.
- To be responsible for the financial management of the program to provide the most cost-effective program possible.
- To be directly or collaboratively involved in counseling, disciplinary, and evaluative activities for program staff.
- To oversee the provision of safe care to all residents on the unit.
- Provides ongoing individual and group clinical and administrative training for program staff.
- Adheres to facility safety policies and procedures.
- To be able to communicate with sensitivity to developmental and cultural issues.
- To provide services consistent with Lakeview Specialty Hospital and Rehab and Lakeview Care Partners, Inc. mission, administratively, clinically, and through Human Resources procedures.
Qualifications
- Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of rehabilitation and/or neuropsychiatry adult services.
- The administrator of a CBRF shall be at least 21 years of age and exhibit the capacity to respond to the needs of the residents and manage the complexity of the CBRF.
- Strong verbal and written skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, ability to speak confidently in public, ability to maintain professional records and patient confidentiality and ability to maintain professional relationships with staff and patients.
- Demonstrates good problem solving, decision making, and judgment skills in high stress situations.
- Understanding of management, budgeting, and marketing principles. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions.
- Education: The administrator shall have any one of the following qualifications:(a) An associate degree or higher from an accredited college in a health care related field.(b) A bachelor's degree in a field other than in health care from an accredited college and one year experience working in a health care related field having direct contact with one or more of the client groups.(c) A bachelor's degree in a field other than in health care from an accredited college and have successfully completed an assisted living administrator's training course approved by the department or the department's designee.(d) At least 2 years experience working in a health care related field having direct contact with one or more of the client groups and have successfully completed an assisted living administrator's training course approved by the department or the department's designee.(e) A valid nursing home administrator's license issued by the department of safety and professional services.
- Licensure: Prefer licensed RN or Master Social Worker (MSW)
- Experience: Minimum of two years in management-related activities. Demonstrated leadership abilities.
