What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer - Warranty position at Lam Research?
This is a new role as part of Lam’s expansion in Phoenix, AZ. The new facility will be located in North Phoenix off Hwy-17.
This position will be remote until approximately July 2022, then a hybrid of remote and onsite.
Job Duties
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions
- Coordinate asset recovery activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments in a cost effective and timely manner
- Process purchase subcontract orders for warranty recovery activities
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
- Participate in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information
- Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment, and services)
- Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value
- Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
- Work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five years’ experience working in procurement
- Two years’ experience working with ERP systems (ex., SAP/Oracle), and other procurement related tools
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Other skills and experience beneficial for this role include prior experience managing the commercial and tactical aspects of supply chain requirements, and a Six Sigma certification.
