What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Specialist position at Lamar County Schools?
Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, the Technology Specialist will carry out the following duties:
- Maintains and repairs system computers, hardware and printers and their operating systems
- Receives and checks new technology shipments, unpacking and disposing of boxes and packing materials.
- Assists with maintaining information on district-licensed software.
- Provide technological advice to school staff with questions or encountering problems with technology in the classroom.
- Continued Knowledge of Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems, Office Products and Mobile Operating Systems.
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with other technology staff to achieve common objectives.
- Works cooperatively with school and distric level personnel to support the district's mission and objectives
- Maintains a sufficient level of knowledge regarding relevant technical developments..
- Any other duties as assigned by the Computer Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and local and wide area networks.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must have a valid drivers license.
