Job Summary:
The Programmer III’s responsibilities included, but are not limited to, performing moderately complex computer programming work and coordinating the programming function for Lamar Institute of Technology. This individual must have the ability to: understand complex processes and develop programmatic solutions and present solutions in a user-friendly manner using standard technologies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and develop server code
- Maintain various instances of IIS and SQL Server
- Develop and test public facing website for the Institute using ASP.NET and SQL Server
- Coordinate the installation, configuration and maintenance of SharePoint Server 2010 including Active Directory security, Exchange email integration, Windows Live email integration, InfoPath forms, shared documents etc.
- Perform various Banner ERP related tasks including maintaining security and monitoring database refreshes
- Maintain various backend web services to facilitate day to day web apps (ex: password reset & Active directory provisioning)
- Maintain Degree works login accounts for LIT employees
- Maintain student active directory accounts provisioning applications
- Integrate Oracle with SQL Server using SQL Server SSIS
- Write SQL reports using Argos for various departments
- Assist IR Security Officer by coordinating Banner information security
- Serve as backup for system support specialists and webmaster
- Perform related work as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- Work experience in web-based programming and graphics design software
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in management information systems, computer science, or a related field
- Knowledge of principles related to programming, application development, and web-based application development
- Skills in contemporary programming languages are necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively with end users in writing and verbally
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
