What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance helper position at Lamb Weston?
Job Description
- Responsible for working in a safe and orderly manner while in the plant or on plant property.
- Aids maintenance personnel in dismantling defective machines and equipment and helps install new or repaired parts.
- Aids maintenance by lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Retrieves parts and tools for maintenance personnel.
- Reports malfunction of processing and / or packaging equipment to lead or supervisor as needed.
- Utilizes sound ergonomic practices such as job rotation when appropriate as quickly as possible.
- Works in temperature extremes.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Will be required to work downtime overtime with regular maintenance during shutdowns.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Operate, inspect, maintain, setup, and cleanup of plant lubrication systems, bearings and grease lines. Assist regular maintenance as required.
- Must have good communication skills, written and verbal. Must be able to follow written instructions and possess good math skills.
- Must be able to obtain forklift operators license.
- Will need to acquire entry level maintenance tool inventory.
- Must complete, maintain and follow all safety guidelines, including LOTO.
- Must be organized and able to manage time wisely.
