Digital Director
Lambda Legal is seeking a creative, self-starting, storyteller to join its Digital Team. The Digital Director is responsible for planning, curating, and developing meaningful content that drives awareness of and engagement with the organization's mission, goals, and programs. They also own the email marketing program. This role is excellent for someone eager to shape new initiatives for the organization by contributing ideas and best practices to an existing strategy.
This role will help increase our social media presence and brand visibility among potential donors, influencers, and targeted audiences. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of communications and content creation skills, with technical and project management skills to execute projects.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit compelling, accurate, and grammatically correct content for use across multiple digital channels (social media, blogs, email communications, and web copy)
- Project manage multiple assignments to deliver content
- Partner with the Digital Director and the Brand Director to establish, develop, and implement a consistent content strategy and tactics calendar
- Build internal and external relationships to produce content that increases awareness and affinity for our brand and reputation
- Track, measure, analyze, and report all owned digital channels to help optimize future tactics to drive engagement and donor leads
- Lead regular content audits on all owned digital channels to ensure message relevancy and make recommendations for updates and revise as needed
- Maintain awareness of industry and platform best practices, emerging trends, competitive behavior, and platform opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of timely, relevant topics and identify opportunities for alignment with brand content
- Support content needs for third-party collaborations and sponsored engagements
- Act as a trusted resource and subject matter expert to colleagues and leadership at all levels
Qualifications

Skills and competencies include:
- 4-6 years of communications and marketing experience, with a firm knowledge of social media and email marketing
- 3-5 years of writing and developing editorial content for digital channels, blogs, internal communications, and email marketing
- Familiar with writing and editing in AP Style
- Strong writing skills and developing editorial content for digital channels, blogs, internal communications, and email marketing
- A strong understanding of online content consumption and engagement, and experience implementing SEO best practices within content
- Ability to interpret legal and policy matters/issues into digestible content.
- Passion for both high-level strategic thinking as well as hands-on writing, producing, and editing work
- Excellent time-management skills. able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
- A high degree of integrity and confidentiality. able to be trusted with highly sensitive information
- Comfortable with change. able to be flexible and agile in a constantly transforming environment
