What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Programs position at Lambs Farm?
Lambs Farm has an exciting opportunity for an innovative, energetic, accomplished professional to create and lead state-of-the-art residential, employment, and life programs for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities as our director of programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to help define the future of an organization with a long history of service.
Lambs Farm was founded in 1961 by Bob Terese and Corinne Owen, visionaries who realized a bold dream of creating employment opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities. With the donation of 72 acres of land just outside Libertyville, the small pet shop they opened in downtown Chicago added residential services and grew to be the organization we are today. As part of our new strategic plan, Lambs Farm is building on our founders’ vision to re-imagine our programs—what does it mean to be bold and innovative in developmental disability services today? The director of programs will join a leadership team committed to answering that question.
This newly created position at Lambs Farm is an opportunity to lead change in our residential programs and transform our vocational services to focus on community employment. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a proven track record developing programs, building and leading a team, mentoring and supervising employees, and managing a department in a community-based organization providing person-centered services for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities.
Lambs Farm offers a competitive salary and benefits, including generous paid time off, a supportive work environment, and the opportunity to help adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities experience all that life can be.
