Directional Drilling Operator

The directional drill operator is responsible for operating a horizontal directional drill in accordance with blueprints and designated plans. They must also, have knowledge of line locating, backhoe, bobcat, and forklift.

Entry level positions available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Underground Directional Bore Operator/Locator will work with a crew assigned to complete the installation of underground power conduit/cable.
• Participates in thorough pre-job briefs and assures that safe working practices are always followed.
• Directional Drilling Operator/Locator is responsible for setting up equipment including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine, perform verification of locates of pre-existing underground utilities.
• Follows Company Safe Work Practices while completing all daily assigned tasks.
• Operate Horizontal Directional Drill and other standard underground construction equipment.
• Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit.
• Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.)
• Cleanup area post construction to county or state standards
• Use equipment to install grounding rods and anchors.
• Ability to follow directions and instructions as given by management.
• Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor/lead.
• Reverse process to install product.

REQUIRMENTS

• Be able to operate a variety of digging tools
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities
• Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring device
• Work out of town
• Pass a Drug test

• Have a High School diploma.
• Maintain a clean, courteous and professional demeanor.
• Be physically able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications), etc
• Have a valid WY driver's license and a clean driving or safety record.
• Be able to work independently & efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Satisfactory results from a background/employment history investigation and drug screening
• Excavation experience a must

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $30.00 per hour
