Directional Drilling Operator
The directional drill operator is responsible for operating a horizontal directional drill in accordance with blueprints and designated plans. They must also, have knowledge of line locating, backhoe, bobcat, and forklift.
Entry level positions available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Underground Directional Bore Operator/Locator will work with a crew assigned to complete the installation of underground power conduit/cable.
- Participates in thorough pre-job briefs and assures that safe working practices are always followed.
- Directional Drilling Operator/Locator is responsible for setting up equipment including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine, perform verification of locates of pre-existing underground utilities.
- Follows Company Safe Work Practices while completing all daily assigned tasks.
- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill and other standard underground construction equipment.
- Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit.
- Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.)
- Cleanup area post construction to county or state standards
- Use equipment to install grounding rods and anchors.
- Ability to follow directions and instructions as given by management.
- Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor/lead.
- Reverse process to install product.
REQUIRMENTS
- Be able to operate a variety of digging tools
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities
- Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring device
- Work out of town
- Pass a Drug test
- Have a High School diploma.
- Maintain a clean, courteous and professional demeanor.
- Be physically able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications), etc
- Have a valid WY driver's license and a clean driving or safety record.
- Be able to work independently & efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Satisfactory results from a background/employment history investigation and drug screening
- Excavation experience a must
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $30.00 per hour
