What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine Operator I position at Lamsco West Inc?
- Will set up the CNC machine, according to established procedures, to drill and mill required material and/or parts out of aluminum, stainless steel, Kapton, titanium, brass, copper, etc.
- Will utilize a lit or a drawing to verify that the machined parts conform to specifications.
- Will monitor the coolant levels and maintain CNC tooling.
- Will perform QC on first articles and on in-process parts.
- Will use micrometers and calipers to measure parts.
- Must be able to get along well with others.
- Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
- Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.
- Must follow the lean philosophy and practice the 5 S’s on a daily basis.
- Additional Duties, as assigned.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Have good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Have neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, inventory logs, etc.
- Be familiar with the use of inspection hand tools (micrometer, caliper)
- High school diploma or GED preferred; prefer one year experience as a machine operator.
- Ability to be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
- Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
