OVERVIEW

The Head of Field Enablement, Training, and Effectiveness has the unique opportunity to impact the lives of patients all around the world.  S/he will be responsible for leading the creation and execution of an impactful field enablement strategy and learning & development program(s). Additionally, s/he will be responsible for leading a team to assess/optimize enablement systems and tools to generate actionable learnings, share best practices and gain efficiencies, enhancing team productivity and effectiveness. This role will ensure our field roles have an exceptional experience when it comes to execution, using productivity and enablement tools, and collaborating as one team. The leader will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the business by facilitating a competitive edge, enhancing field effectiveness, and achieving consistent, continual success.

Strong strategic and analytical skills are required and necessary to achieve the Commercial organization’s strategic and financial goals, develop short- and long-term plans in support of business objectives, and meet the needs of key internal and external stakeholders. This position requires strong in-line leadership as well as the ability to influence, lead, and engage cross functionally (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory, Commercial Operations, Medical, etc.).

S/he will be an ambassador for instilling our cultural values and influential in recruiting, retaining and developing talent to deliver better patient outcomes. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Excellence and Innovation, the Head will:

  • Strategically lead team to establish commercial field enablement approach and strategy; determine and track key metrics for field enablement.
  • Identify new, innovative solutions leveraging a cross-functional approach to optimize field enablement; evaluate and make recommendations for enablement and training platforms and formats Identify areas for improvement, and design, manage, and facilitate successful implementation and adoption of new processes, tools, procedures, and programs
  • Lead the creation of a field leadership development program across Commercial, utilizing principles of adult learning; create field coaching/coachability plan/program to facilitate growth and development of field talent
  • Translate corporate and brand strategy into actionable field direction and initiatives to optimize consistent execution
  • Develop/optimize field competency assessment programs and partner certification programs
  • Partner with field leadership to understand issues and challenges impacting success; collaborate with regional sales leaders and teams to develop and execute sales management disciplines and processes
  • Be an advocate of the field and champion an “pleasure to do business with”, invaluable approach; drive continuous improvement on all related field processes, documents, and tools to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of commercial processes
  • Leads/Collaborates on transition and planning of new field team members and on-boarding process
  • Ensure sales team readiness and operational process as it relates to new program/product/feature rollouts: capabilities, field strategy, goals
  • Provide guidance, insight, and recommendations to leadership focused on increased revenue growth while improving overall field performance and effectiveness
  • Viewed as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor by the field organization and key stakeholders
  • Regularly shares best practices and provides constructive coaching and feedback to other members of the team
  •  Champion and instill company and cultural values. Ensure initiatives align with Lantheus’ culture and corporate goals
  • Recruit, retain, develop, and coach talent to create business impact and achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Demonstrate and employ the judgment, flexibility and situational leadership required to lead through complex combinations of market challenges, including business and organizational change necessitated by changes in the medical, regulatory, and business environment

  • Build and cultivate productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, business leaders/organizations, and colleagues that are essential to the success of Lantheus products and business at large.
  • Lead the team to manage growth and change, develop human capital, and create and maintain a culture of engagement and accountability. Consistent track record of providing prompt and objective feedback, coaching, and counseling to enhance or improve performance by setting expectations and holding individuals accountable for performance and behavior.
  •  Champion and instill company and cultural values. Ensure initiatives align with Lantheus’ culture and corporate goals.
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and information both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner to all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make enterprise-wide decisions and remain persistently focused on priorities.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 15 years in positions of escalating scope and responsibility within healthcare organizations or the equivalent
  • Extensive commercial experience with a solid record of achievement in either therapeutics or diagnostics, including launch experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and or medical device industry as well as federal, state, industry, company and customer compliance regulations and policy
  • Wide range of pharmaceutical/diagnostic/medical device commercial experience/knowledge inclusive of marketing and/or sales, operations, sales training, and launch planning
  • Exceptional presentation skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in Oncology, including prostate cancer
  • Clinical, scientific, and/or technical discipline knowledge (e.g., radiopharmaceuticals, urology related disease states, treatment paradigms, and future trends)
  • MBA

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Routine overnight travel based on business need and some weekend work may be required.
