JOB
Under occasional supervision, is responsible for maintaining all public parks, playgrounds, equipment and related facilities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Utilizes, operates, and maintains a variety of equipment to include a tractor, backhoe, front end loader, lawn mower, various saws, bush hog, mechanics tools, and carpentry tools to maintain all parks, playgrounds, equipment and facilities of Lancaster County. Exercises care and safety in the use of assigned equipment and vehicles. Assists in inspecting parks and facilities and determining maintenance / repair requirements. Performs maintenance work as assigned to maintain grounds and facilities, including the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, playground equipment, etc.; tree / debris removal; light carpentry; painting, etc. Performs emergency repairs as needed. Collects and disposes of trash. Assists with set-up for special events. Inspects assigned equipment/vehicles for safety; performs equipment maintenance and repair work as necessary. Position will include occasional weekend and weeknight work. Reports to the Maintenance Foreman of Recreation
