Construction Estimator

Lancaster Custom Dock and Lift Systems, Inc. is an elite dock and building contractor in the Lake Norman area of NC and is currently seeking an experienced Estimator. We have been providing comprehensive solutions to our customers for over 37 years. We offer a wide range of products including marine construction, dock building and design, as well as other specialty services.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop complete understanding of the company construction process and methods of construction.
• Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
• Ensure estimates conform to proper scope of work specifications and drawings.

Use CAD (Sketchup Pro) to develop take-off and submittal drawings used to determine material quantities and final project completion options for potential clients.

• Pricing of material quantities, in-house and subcontractor labor, equipment rentals, design & permitting fees, freight, and other miscellaneous costs.
• Assist Project Managers with handoff of contracted projects.
• Creating labor estimates for any project
• Reviewing subcontractor and material supply quotes for scope compliance and cost comparisons.
• Working closely with construction project management team to maintain estimate throughout project.
• Consulting with vendors and internal project teams to resolve issues.
• Establishing and maintaining strong subcontractor relationships.
• Liaison between production team, project managers, and sales department
• Assist Accounting Manager on calculation discrepancies or other inquiries; execute corrections as needed in a timely manner.
• Execute sales process accordingly to ensure a steady work flow, update customer files as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of estimating experience.
• Ability to perform take-offs and organize conceptual budget pricing.
• Must be a self-starter and understand deadlines.
• Must have good phone and excellent people skills.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient software knowledge including SketchUp or AutoCAD
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)

Signing Bonus: Up to $2,000.00 signing bonus. This is paid after ninety (90) days of employment with Lancaster adhering to company's payroll policy schedule after an assessment of excellent attendance record and work performance.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
