Position: Quality Control Laboratory Technician
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 24 months
Shift/Schedule: Candidate will initially work M-F 8A-4P for ~4 months during training and then transition to a 12-hour shift non-rotating (could be only day shift or only night shift)

- Description:**
- General Duties:**
- **Organize and Prioritize Workload:** Independently perform routine and non-routine work, supporting the QC laboratory in testing all samples as applicable. Ability to coordinate and perform multiple/concurrent tasks accurately, efficiently, and timely.
- **Sample Testing Coordination:** Test raw materials and finished products daily based on backlogs, customer shipment schedules, and management directives. Communicate backlog status to the Manager.
- **Work Schedule Management:** Coordinate work schedules with the Manager, including weekend work, to ensure QC testing remains on track. Ability to work occasional overtime due to sample backlogs.
- Laboratory Expertise:**
- **In-depth Knowledge:** Possess thorough knowledge of test methods, processes, and laboratory equipment for raw materials, liquids, and finished products. Ensure work instructions align with overall company test methods. May revise and/or develop laboratory standard operating procedures.
- **Equipment Proficiency:** Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on all laboratory equipment, including vicat apparatus, air jet sieve, screen sieves, scratch testing equipment, weigh scale, hardness tester, and colorimeter (if applicable).
- Quality Assurance:**
- **Real-time Data Management: ** Utilize the Quality Information Database System to record test data promptly, enabling real-time SPC charting and analysis. Review SPC data/charts to identify unusual trends, suggest special causes, and assist in corrective action. Notify Management of any unusual trends and ensure open communication regarding SPC trends with other QC laboratory personnel.
