The Regulatory Affairs Manager provides input and guidance in defining, maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting the regulatory requirements across the Animal Nutrition division. This position has direct input into all feed regulatory aspects of the Enterprise Quality Management System, establishes effective/ongoing state and Federal (Dept. of Ag, FDA) relationships, and directs interaction with key trade associations. In addition, this position provides direct support to plants, business teams, labeling, and registration for regulatory related product development and issue resolution.
Locations: This position is listed as Gray Summit, Mo or Arden Hills, MN, but this role can be remote(virtual) anywhere in the USA.
Salary: 86K to 129K (depending on experience)
Job Description:
- Liaison between corporate/plant QA and business teams to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance to policies and practices encompassing ingredients, medications, labeling, packaging, and facility registrations.
- Technical input and CFR interpretation for various business teams about new approaches in ingredient usage and labeling/copy interpretation.
- Interaction with State and Federal regulators and multiple feed Trade Associations relative to ongoing evolution of regulated program requirements, required reporting/follow-up, and medicated feed industry interpretation.
- Monitor and facilitate emerging feed safety and legislative initiatives and impact on Purina Animal Nutrition entities and communicate across the Feed division levels and entities.
- Communicate regulatory information through Quality meetings and Monthly Regulatory Reporting.

- Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), and State Regulations.
- Working knowledge of: Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Food Laws, or related area.
- 10 years of experience of progressive industry regulatory experience in feed laws, regulations, or quality assurance of manufacturing.
Experience-Education (Preferred):
- Master's Degree in Agriculture Science, feed laws or related area.
- Previous feed manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience supporting R&D projects.
- Feed regulatory software experience.
- Working knowledge of Codex Alimentarius and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations
