Buyer - Value Added IngredientsThe Buyer -Value Added Ingredients will be responsible for sourcing/management of ingredients & additives for the Land ‘O Lakes Dairy Foods business. Working within the overall Supply Chain organization, you will play a key role to insure adequate supply, quality, and optimal cost of ingredients to the manufacturing facilities and internal partners.
You will have up to $60MM of spend under management of various micro-ingredients including colors, flavors, fruits, vegetables, sweeteners, seasonings, food chemicals and other food ingredients.

Key focuses Include:
- Ensure the supply of ingredients and additives, at the lowest total cost, in order to maximize gross margin and ensure adequate and timely supply to our manufacturing facilities
- Identify areas of potential cost savings and work with R&D and other supply chain partners to pursue those opportunities
- Develop and execute RFP's
- Negotiate supply and pricing agreements with suppliers
- Review and route supplier agreements for execution
- Gather and communicate market information and implications within the organization
- Partner and communicate effectively with key supply chain partners including pricing, formulation, manufacturing, logistics and quality
- Manage relationships with assigned key suppliers
Required Experience/Knowledge:
- 4 year degree in Business, Economics, Food Science or related field
- 4+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, planning/logistics, ingredient merchandising, food quality, dairy foods R&D or related businesses
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Purchasing system or ERP/MRP experience
- Intermediate Excel and Microsoft application skills
Preferred Experience/Knowledge
- Negotiation skills
- Knowledge of dairy foods processing operations
- Project management experience
