EHS Specialist
An excellent company focused on creating renewable wind energy is looking for a EHS Specialist . The fixed facility EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting (onsite) the EHS team on second shift at our Amarillo, TX location .
The individual will support our EHS programs and processes consistent with our EHS Life Saving Rules and EHS framework expectations, including EHS training, emergency preparedness, risk assessment, high risk operations and environmental management to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Experience with leading indicators, 5 Why investigations, inspections and EHS digital system is expected.
What you’ll be doing :
- Be the EHS point of contact on second shift.
- Ability to multi-task on different EHS programs and initiatives and work closely on the floor with technicians and problem solve / eliminate risk as a team.
- Provide relevant EHS technical expertise and training relevant to the scope of the role.
- Oversee and ensure that Amarillo site is implementing and executing to expectation and standard, being able to develop countermeasures when deviation is identified.
- Lead efforts to make regulatory determinations for emergent issues and remain current and / or develop necessary understanding of EHS regulations and GE EHS programs specific to assigned priorities / job scope.
What you’ll bring to the job :
- Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college with at least two years of EHS experience or minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing environment.
- Able to use Excel, Powerpoint or comparable software similar packages.
- Fluent English with strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- RCRA, HazWoper, Stormwater, Tier II training / experience is a plus
