As a Business Analyst you will help identify and define the solutions that will maximize the value delivered by IT to project stakeholders. You will be able to work independently in complex situation or tasks. You will have a good working knowledge of all areas of business analysis.

You will have a good understanding of various technical platforms and understand which applications in an organization deliver various business capabilities. You will also serve as the liaison between the customer community and the software development team to gather and communicate requirements which help define and verify solution design. In addition, you will serve as a resource for engineering and quality assurance, clarifying requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will work with geographical disbursed teams and be skilled at communicating across cultures. You will rely on your strong analytical and organization skills to manage the myriad of details that must be thoughtfully considered and communicated to succeed in your job.


Responsibilities


  • Business Analysis Planning
    – Determine which activities are necessary in order to complete a business analysis effort. This may include identification of stakeholders, selection of the appropriate business analysis techniques and assessing and monitoring the progress of the work.
  • Requirements Elicitation – Work with stakeholders to identify and understand the business needs and concerns. Gain an understanding of the environment in which the stakeholders work in order to ensure that actual underlying needs are understood, rather than their stated or superficial desires.
  • Requirements Management and Communication - Manage conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure that stakeholders and the project team remain in agreement on the solution scope, how requirements are communicated to stakeholders, and how knowledge gained by the business analyst is maintained for future use.
  • Enterprise Analysis - Identify a business need, refine and clarify the definition of that need and define a solution scope that can feasibly be implemented by the business. This may include problem definition and analysis, business case development, feasibility studies and the definition of solution scope. Participate in discussions with stakeholders to document possible conceptual requirements, enhancements, one-off requests and interface needs.
  • Requirements Analysis - prioritize and progressively elaborate stakeholder and solution requirements in order to enable the project team to implement a solution that will meet the needs of the stakeholders. This involves analyzing stakeholder needs to define solutions that meet those needs, assessing the current state of the business to identify and recommend improvements and the verification and validation of the resulting requirements.
  • Solution Assessment and Validation - Assess proposed solutions to determine which solution best fits the business need, identify gaps and shortcomings in solutions and determine necessary workarounds or changes to the solution. Assess deployed solutions to see how well they met the original need so that the stakeholders can assess the performance and effectiveness of the solution.


Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups to include planning, presentations and topic moderation.
  • Excellent Analytical Thinking and Creative problem solving skills; able to navigate through ambiguous situations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and understand the necessary components of a solution through analysis, planning, evaluation of cost/benefit, testing and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and speaking. Must demonstrate the ability to confer technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Effective technical writing skills including previous experience in writing procedures or processes relevant to documenting requirements and product design plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and build consensus with various audiences, plan and manage project activities while facilitating and developing business strategy through internal and external relationships.


Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Five years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager or Project Manager in a software development environment.
  • Experience with consumer facing web applications, eCommerce platforms and/or Digital Marketing systems
  • Previous release and/or project management experience with a solid understanding of project management principles.
  • 2 years progressive experience using an Agile systems development methodology
  • Experience with Jira and the Atlassian suite of tools, or similar development process tools
  • Experience with Retail industry is a plus
