Medical Billing/Coding Specialist
Job Summary:
The Medical Biller/Coder Specialist is responsible for accurate filing of all claims to insurance companies for assigned providers. Will be responsible to for follow-up of claims, denials, appeals, and collections. As well as working AR on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Code and file claims for assigned providers to insurance companies.
- Review coding prior to claim submission to ensure accuracy.
- Work claim rejections and denials, appealing when necessary.
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding payments and balances due.
- Work with patients and insurance companies for any required prior authorizations or referals needed prior to service.
- Post payments from insurance companies and making correct required contractual adjustments to patient's account.
- Post payments from patients to patient's account and follow up for balance due.
- Working experience and knowledge of current CPT codes.
- Work Accounts Receivable on a consistent basis to keep accounts current.
- Work collections for balances due.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as an insurance biller in a medical office is REQUIRED.
- CPT coding experience/education is REQUIRED.
- Accurate keyboard and calcuator skills.
- EMR experience if REQUIRED. Experience with ECW platform preferred.
- Experience with medical billing software is REQUIRED.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.60 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
