Position Overview:

The Coatings Environmental Compliance Manager will focus on waste management from onsite operations, ensuring compliance with company, federal, state, and local standards, codes, and regulations/practices. This includes:

  • Ensuring waste materials (sludge, solvents, oils, etc.) are properly disposed
  • Permit requirements are being obtained and maintained (air quality, special waste streams, landfill manifest, renewal permits, etc.)
  • Conducting compliance audits and inspections of organizational processes and providing corrective action if needed
  • Performing regular testing and analysis of samples including water, emissions, and chlorine levels.
  • Inputting gathered data into reports and preparing regulatory agency-required compliance reports 
  • Promoting continuous improvement throughout the plant

This position also oversees the rebar side of the plant, which includes overseeing the scheduling and production of rebar, managing billing, and developing and maintaining relationships with rebar customers and vendors.  

Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Engineering, technical certification, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Previous experience with safety and environmental compliance, laws, and regulations including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Hazardous Waste Regulations, Community Right-to-Know Act, and OSHA preferred.
  • Previous management or plant operations experience.
  • Previous experience in powder/liquid coating is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in powder coating, production, or similar environment.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
