LANEY & LU is on the search for an individual looking to join Team LU as a House Leader.
As a House Leader for LANEY & LU, you will provide friendly, responsive service to create an extraordinary customer experience by making genuine connection with our guests, discussing our menu and making recommendations when appropriate, taking their orders and processing payments, and serving food and/or beverages to our guests at the counter or table.

SCOPE: OPERATIONS OF RESTAURANT/STORE, KITCHEN, DIRECTLY OVERSEE FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM LEADER ANDBACK OF HOUSE TEAM LEADER, CATERING COORDINATOR, CARE OF TEAM AND GUESTS
JOB SUMMARY
Oversee, direct, and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales,costs, team retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation for a retail location.
ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Laney & Lu
- Lead, train and inspire team to deliver exceptional experiences and high quality nourishing creations consistent with LANEY & LU branding
- Meet/exceed annual P&L objectives with a focus labor, productivity, cost of goods, and production management
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with LANEY & LU policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the cafe, team and guests
- Review and report on financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify and action areas needing cost reduction or program improvement
- Ensure competence of Team Leader and Kitchen Leader in monitoring budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted
- Collaborate with Chief Creative Officer on the development of, planning, and implementation of restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns
- Build and support local community through partnerships, shared events, collaboration and co-promotion
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs and followed and completed on a timely basis
- Be knowledgeable and maintain high level of commitment to LANEY & LU policies regarding personnel
- Assess staffing needs and proactively attract and hire team members that are aligned with the LANEY & LUmission and Honor Code
- Schedule staff hours and assign duties
- Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action/coaching for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
- Provide necessary training and mentoring to Team Leader and Kitchen Leader to ensure that they are able to provide the same in a manner consistent with Laney & Lu policies and culture
- Organize and direct team training and All Hands Meetings that include relevant, timely issues, concerning operations of the cafe, culture development and team building
- Perform personnel actions, such as hiring and terminating staff, providing on-boarding orientation and on-going training and building the team excellence muscle
- Ensure Team Leader develops competence and skill in this area to conduct such personnel management activities
