CORPORATE/REAL ESTATE LEGAL ASSISTANT

Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Understanding of transactional legal language and principles;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software;
- Knowledge of district, state and federal court and electronic filing procedures, preferred;
- Professional appearance and demeanor with commitment to providing exceptional client service;
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a desire to take ownership; and
- Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform conflict checks; open and maintain client files, case files, and organizational documents and open/close files;
- Prepare, edit, and proof memos, correspondence and other similar documents and reports relating to corporate mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and formation documents for business entities, and purchase agreements;
- Conduct research and distribute real estate documents;
- Review, revise, and draft real estate contracts, amendments, termination letters, leases, and real estate legal documents;
- Strong probate and estate administration skills;
- Communicate with clients;
- Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines in fast-paced environment;
- Reviews, proofreads, formats, and spellchecks all documents;
- Ability to follow through with documents and be able to think ahead of processes that need to be done;
- File pleadings and other filings in district/state/federal court, as needed;
- Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings, travel, and depositions;
- Maintain calendars including court deadlines and appearances;
- Enter billable time and edit time and pre-bills, as needed;
- Process expense reimbursements;
- Answer incoming calls; prepare documents for shipment; and distribute mail;
- Respond to inquiries for information; and
- Other responsibilities as needed.
