Microbiologist I
Job Summary:
The Microbiologist I reports directly to the Microbiology Supervisor and is responsible for performing routine and non-routine microbial tests on active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, in-process and finished products including stability samples. The Microbiologist I works independently and assists with performing lab investigations in addition to acting as a reviewer on test procedures, SOPs, technical documents and other record types as required. Assist with special projects and other tasks as deemed necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Routine and non-routine testing of samples
- Method Verification, Validation and Development
- Reviewing of SOPs and other technical documents
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and 1-2 years of laboratory experience or a master’s degree in Microbiology, preferably within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of cGMP and other regulatory requirements
- Basic understanding of QC microbiology including aseptic techniques
- Working knowledge of GMP, USP/NF and ICH guidelines
- Excellent written skills
