Job Highlights
- Responsible for Operational Procurement functions based at the Pittsburgh headquarters site to include the purchase of any raw materials, resale goods, lab supplies, services, IT hardware/software requisitioned by any group function or business unit within LANXESS North America sites.
- Convert all purchase requisitions into purchase orders within one business day and follow up on order confirmations with vendor.
- Communicate and cultivate professional relationships with external suppliers, maintain a good working and professional relationship with internal customers, management, receiving accounting and production.
- Work in conjunction with accounts payable, business units, group functions, and warehousing to resolve any invoice/purchase order issues.
- Work with North America Master Data to ensure setup of new vendors as needed.
- Maintain all required documentation and processes needed to perform an operational desk.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain or other related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to be a self-starter with a sense of urgency, an ability to manage time well, prioritize and effectively attend to high priority matters.
- Thorough understanding or procurement principals.
- Ability to interface and effectively communicate with all levels of the LANXESS organization.
- Ability to anticipate and identify problems, analyze correctly, consider alternatives, consult with appropriate colleagues, implement the right solution and monitor results.
- Minimal travel may be required.
