Part Time Peer Support Specialist:

The Peer Support Specialist assists in implementing/creating a recovery environment and acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of every individual along with sharing relevant personal experiences related to the “Recovery Process” for the benefit of individuals in recovery.

Significant Duties: Work as a member of the Adult Case Management team providing peer support services to individuals. Peer Supports relate to consumers with their own lived experience as a mental health consumer.

  • Must adhere to and apply the Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist Code of Ethics to all duties.
  • Will be expected to provide direct services to participants receiving mental health services
  • Individual and group facilitation and education related to recovery, community resources, community integration, activities of daily living, symptom management, and other topics that support self-determination.
  • Must be able to participate in a team environment with multidisciplinary staff members.
  • Timely completion of all assigned work is expected.
  • Will be expected to transport participants in agency vehicle.
  • Act as a role model for individuals seeking to achieve or maintain long term stability.
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings and supervision as required.
  • Adhere to Agency and Program standards, philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Must be available for additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Person with lived mental health experience. Valid Michigan driver’s license.

Compensation: $38,050.69 - $54,296.32

Salary: Entry: $ 38,050.69 6 months: $40,927.74 1st Year: $43,783.17 2nd Year: $47,201.02 3rd Year: $50,618.88 4th Year: $54,296.32

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.29 per hour
