Responsibilities:
- Inspecting trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
- Repairing damaged equipment parts.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.
- Repairing and servicing machine attachments.
- Performing major repair work when necessary.
- Driving to various job sites.
- Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed.
Desired skills and Experience:
- Trade Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- 3 years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or related role.
- Must have a Class 5 driver’s license and a CVIP license.
- Proven work experience with diesel or heavy equipment.
- Understanding of computer testing technologies.
- Ability to lift heavy machinery.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
- Ability to work after-hours if required.
- Good communication skills.
