Position: Maintenance Worker
Schedule: Based on a 40 hour work week.
Starting Salary Range: * $22-$26.40/hour

As a Maintenance Worker you will be a valuable asset to Laradon’s mission by performing a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting tasks.
No day is ever alike but you can generally look forward to the following responsibilities:
• Operates all exterior operations maintenance equipment.
• Inspects grounds, playground equipment, parking lot fences and exterior building structures to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety practices, policies and procedures.
• Coordinates and schedules maintenance projects with supervisor.
• Exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person.
• Assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
• Inspects and performs minor maintenance on sprinkler systems including setting timers, replacing sprinkler heads, repairing leaks, etc.
• Performs snow removal and ice mitigation as needed.
• Performs basic rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture and shelves.
• Performs basic electrical installation and repair work in wiring for switches, outlets, plugs, cables, power circuits and appliances, repairs lighting system, inspects electrical systems for unsafe conditions.
• Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks, opens clogged lines and drains, replaces washers and other minor parts, applies and prepares various surfaces for paint.
• Maintains grounds in clean and orderly manner, maintains grounds maintenance equipment, trims tree branches that create hazardous situations.
• Maintains playground equipment.
• Changes filters on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units.
• Oversees or arranges emergency equipment repairs.
• Moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment.
• Activates and deactivates building alarms and responds to alarm calls during and after regular work hours.
• Maintains clean, safe and orderly work sites.
• Follows oral and/or written instructions.
• Communicates effectively in both oral and written form.
• Maintains work logs.
• Inspects and performs minor servicing on fleet.
• Required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
• Subject to after-hours recall.
• Employee will be required to operate vehicles.
• As Laradon is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative, team environment, employee must be physically present in the office to perform his/her job functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
We ask that you bring the following assets:
High school diploma or equivalent
Requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a related trade.
Valid Colorado driver’s license.
Driver’s license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, painting, grounds keeping, appliance repair, electrical wiring, standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities, safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.
Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays
