Bookkeeper

Laramee Tax Services is a full-service accounting firm based in Millbury. We are looking for someone who has current, high level bookkeeping experience to aid in servicing our offsite accounting clients. High level bookkeeping and a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is a must.

Duties:

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Process accounts payable, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues
- Prepare account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Assist with technical accounting tasks, such as researching and implementing new accounting standards
- Participate in budgeting activities, including preparing budget reports and analyzing variances
- Write financial reports to communicate the organization's financial performance
- Handle governmental accounting requirements, such as preparing reports for tax filings and audits
- Manage payroll processes, including calculating wages, processing payroll taxes, and issuing paychecks
- Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of payments

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Excellence in using bookkeeping software (QuickBooks) and MS Office applications (particularly Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
- Strong analytical skills for account analysis and reconciliation tasks
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial report writing
- Familiarity with governmental accounting regulations is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
